A program I’d love everyone to take! Very informative. This course has truly expanded my knowledge of nutrition with a depth I was not expecting. Truly a gem. This course has given me so many ways to look at food in my life and how it can help others. Worth every penny.
I love the high quality video and the engaging nature of the teachers. I highly recommend the PRCO Holistic Nutrition program to anyone who is curious about how what we eat can influence our overall health.
A lot of information to absorb through videos, and the teachers do a great job in trying to keep it flowing. I prefer this to sitting in a classroom as I can work at my own pace and if I missed something I can go back and find it in the e-book or video.

During her final year of post-grad level work in genetic research at the Department of Pathology, she treated her chronic knee injury with natural medicine – nutrition, herbs and supplements. The impact was so life-changing, it inspired her to pursue formal studies and training in Naturopathic Medicine.
While a student at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), Angeli pursued further hands-on training in botanical medicine with the Ontario Herbalists Association. Upon graduation, she obtained further qualification in Restorative Medicine for the treatment of Thyroid, Adrenal and other endocrine/metabolic conditions.
Angeli believes in contributing to the profession and has served as an Executive Board Member, Medical Editor for the LAND (Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors), Chair of the Naturopathic Legacy Committee and has worked overseas with NGOs such as Naturopathic Doctors International who provides natural medical care to patients in remote and isolated areas of Central America. Here, Angeli supervised clinical care in Women’s Clinics, taught Global Health, Botanical Medicine and Clinical skills to prospective ND candidates from all over North America. Angeli is a professional member of the AARM (Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine) and continues to remain politically active in enabling access to natural health for the Canadian public.
Angeli views health as maintaining balance within all aspects of a person: emotional, mental, spiritual, environmental, social, physical – and that healing happens on all levels. When not consulting, Angeli enjoys learning, teaching, writing articles for publication, growing food, hiking, kayaking and landscape painting.

Hilary Brent is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Personal Chef and Food Stylist living in Vancouver, BC. Her passion for holistic wellness was ignited when a close family member was diagnosed with breast cancer. This newfound curiosity led her to fly across the country to British Columbia to study Holistic Nutrition. Having always worked in restaurants, Hilary decided to complete her co-op with a Private Chef in Vancouver. It was this experience that opened her eyes to the possibility of a dream career and an opportunity to have a tangible impact on the health of her clients and community.
Hilary now owns and operates The Rooted Table – a bespoke holistic personal cheffing company where she and her team of chefs nourish clients across Vancouver and surrounding areas. She also works as a food stylist and recipe consultant for brands.
Her hunger for continual learning and development led her to enroll at the University of British Columbia for a course in Food Writing. Her desire to have people gathered around a table to share a meal led her to launch Friends and Fare and Secret Handshake – two pop-up long table dinner series in Vancouver both with a focus on the celebration of seasonal eating. She has been the head chef for multiple retreats on Bowen Island and in Whistler. Her love of community led her to publish the PNW Eats Cookbook – a collection of community recipes contributed by chefs, herbalists and gardeners with 100% of proceeds being donated to two organizations. She has also worked as a holistic cooking educator – appearing annually on the BC Home and Garden Cooking Stage, as well as being an instructor for an online chef certification program and teaching cooking classes to corporate groups and in private residences.
For Hilary, it always comes back to food. She believes what we eat is at the root of our health and ultimately, our happiness. She feels that food is the great connector – a catalyst for laughter, storytelling and love and she feels privileged to be able to work in a field that brings her so much joy.
Mercy Southam is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Founder and Owner of Eir Mobile Medicine, Canada’s first mobile acupuncture and natural medicine studio. Her entrepreneurial journey started at the age of 10, when she founded her community’s first Dog Walking-Private Detective Agency. Seeing the potential of combining these two lucrative industries, Mercy successfully spent the summer of 1996 with her eyes, ears, and (dogs’) nose on the neighbourhood.
Since then, Mercy has explored a variety of industries and professions. She competed throughout Europe and North America as a Rhythmic Gymnast, lived alongside indigenous communities in the Kalahari Desert as a Medical Anthropologist, was a Professional Pillow Fighter with Toronto’s former Pillow Fight League, and has worked throughout North America and Uganda as an international non-profit Programs Coordinator. It was through these varied professions that Mercy discovered the single thread that links us all together: When our communities feel their best, everybody wins.
With this ethos in mind, Mercy has devoted the decade to studying Acupuncture + Traditional Chinese Medicine. Having studied in both the USA and Canada, Mercy has immersed herself in a variety of healthcare systems, identifying ways to improve on existing structures. Her studies led her to residencies at Rady’s Children’s Hospital (San Diego, CA) and the MHS Family Recovery Centre (Oceanside, CA), where she witnessed first hand the power of collaboration between Eastern and Western medicine, and the importance of providing Acupuncture + Natural Medicine to the community.

Whether you are discovering the fascinating history of food and diet for the first time, or you are a seasoned chef, nutritionist, or practitioner of any kind, this program will enhance and reimagine your knowledge so that you feel confident in understanding holistic nutrition, meal planning and cooking for you, your friends, and your family.
Yes! This program is 100% self-paced and online. You can start anytime you like and from wherever you are.

With over 60 hours of self-paced video lessons, a light study schedule may consist of 2–4 hours of learning per week and up to 6–10+ hours per week for those wishing to complete the program in a shorter time. In addition, you are encouraged to complete readings in the guidebook, submit quizzes and assignments, and pursue additional research on topics of interest. We supply you with a reading list and suggest selecting one book from each section to enhance your learning experience. We estimate the program will take you 160–300 hours to complete, depending on the depth of your study.
To receive your certification, students must complete all video lessons, quizzes, and projects within two years from initial enrollment. After two years, access to the student discussion boards and virtual classroom lessons will be limited.
Yes! You will have access to the discussion boards so that you can ask questions at any time. Our in-house nutritionists will be thrilled to answer your questions.

The Holistic Nutrition 101 course is a completely separate and different course, and is not contained within this program. If you have already taken that course, then you will find that this program greatly builds on that material, and more!
If you have taken Chinese Dietary Therapy, you are not required to complete that course in the program to receive your certificate.
The Holistic Nutrition Program version of Chinese Dietary Therapy does include some different and additional material (including a patient demo intake and case studies), so it’s helpful to complete both!

“Very positive experience! Well-organized, enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors, diverse material. The flow through topics is in a sensible order. In-depth detail on macro/micro nutrients of different foods was very useful. I also enjoyed the Ayurveda and TCM sections for a different worldview perspective that I grew up with in North America.”
“Well organized and content rich. Thus far it all has been useful. Great value for the cost of the program.”
“Quite thorough and a great introduction to the world of holistic nutrition, from theory to practice. I really liked diving in to specific foods and having the charts to refer to, learning which foods are highest in various minerals and vitamins, and learning how the different body systems work together.”
“Great program, lots of knowledgeable instructors to guide you through the principles of Holistic Nutrition. I learned a lot about myself that I will implement to balance myself more which will only improve the way others see me as well as make me feel better and more attuned to my energy.”
“I liked the variety of approaches to nutrition. Some of the presenters were excellent within their own content and seemed to have no issue in that their beliefs did not match another system of beliefs. I liked that it left me to decide which I might prefer or to just log the variety of thoughts.”
“I have throughly enjoyed this program. It’s well thought out and the perfect introduction to Holistic Nutrition practices. “
“An accessible, innovative and intelligent approach to holistic medicine. Tutors and course content is inspirational and professional. Highly recommend. It draws together nutrition but includes and ancient, indigenous awareness that resonates and is needed in todays climate of health and disease.”
“I cook for a lot of clients as a Doula and wanted to have more tangible information about holistic nutrition to apply in my work. I have thoroughly enjoyed deepening my knowledge of holistic nutrition and have found a new found love for cooking in the kitchen. I am grateful I invested in myself and took this course, I know it will be valuable to me for many years to come.”
“I am so impressed and have nothing but good things to say about this program! I will be spreading the word – the world needs this knowledge now more than ever!”
