Our website address is: https://temp.pacificrimcollege.online.
We are an eLearning website.
In our eLearning platform we do not store any information which is not posted by the user. For example, we’re only tracking the information filled in the registration form fields and the custom profile fields. All of these fields are manually entered by the user and can be removed at any point. The custom profile fields information can be changed by Site administrator and the user themselves.
We’re not tracking any IP address, country, state, geolocation, rfid, so there is no hidden tracking of data.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We use contact forms on our site for our users to reach out to us. It’s important to note that GDPR (the European General Data Protection Regulation) does not prohibit saving of personal data to a website database, it just requires that users consent before doing so — to that end, we ask for your consent on the contact forms on our site.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
We use aggregated, anonymous data that gives us a general sense of where our traffic is coming from, to what pages our visitors visit, how long they stay and what pages they leave from. We use this information to make our website better. We use Google Analytics for this and only have access to the data they provide in keeping with what is allowable via GDPR and relevant regional laws.
We don’t share your data with anyone! We don’t use any 3rd party apps or services that share your data. So, rest easy that it is safe with us.
If you leave a comment (assuming the feature is enabled), the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue and to protect the site from security breaches (as comments are well known to provide a vector of attack).
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. For example, while it is possible to erase the name from your student profile, you may not want that done if it prevents the creation of your course certificates!
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Email and notifications will be sent to relevant employees and instructors depending on the circumstance and only to facilitate the business and training.
Our site uses SSL and multiple levels of security as well as a 3rd party security audit and firewall tool. We backup regularly and automatically and strive to keep our technology as current as possible.
To this end, our security team and tools monitor threats by IP address, country and state to prevent automated/scripted attacks.
Should there be a significant breach of our site. We will notify relevant authorities and our site host first and then contact the effected parties or individuals promptly.
