Hi everyone! I’m looking for a bit of clarification. In some of the courses in the Vol II guidebook (External Prep, Internal Prep, and Body Products/Gift Making) I’ve noticed very different methods for making infused oils. On page 24 the recipe calls to infuse for one week, page 66/67 have the addition of alcohol and a hot water bath, and page 88 is no alcohol or heat but a 4-6 week infusion. I understand the addition of alcohol is the optional intermediary step to help with the extraction of VOs, and the hot water bath is for if you want the final product sooner than 4-6 weeks. Are there any other benefits to the hot water bath besides time, does it yield a more complete extraction? What is your favourite method for infused oils? Is one superior?
