Hi Carolyn,

Ah yes, okay I see now.
I have 3 ideas for how you could approach this to make the formula your own.

1. If this is based on a specific person with BPH or even if you are just generally interested in BPH, you could look into some of the other background contributors or concerns that are going on: estrogen, cardiovascular concerns, stress, constipation, etc. and add some items in to address those. A simple set of herbs that come to mind there would be dandelion root or milk thistle, which would support the liver and bowels in proper hormone clearance.
Some of these background concerns are discussed in the reproductive health section of the course, or if you have a specific person in mind, you could ask more about their specific situation then consider what herbs would support them along with the standard saw palmetto and/or nettle root. I realize now that this is what you were doing with the Licorice, which is great! So I would say, keep along those lines but try to keep within the herbs in the course.

2. Consider slightly different but still effective preparations for the herbs that are in the formula given.

3. Choose another relatively easy/simple condition, which could be something that isn’t mentioned in Therapeutics.

I hope this has helped to clarify and guide you forward on this assignment,
With warmth,
Benna
