PRC Elective: Applied Facial Diagnosis for Acupuncturists

Facial features, colours, and markings provide a blueprint of the emotional and physical state of the body. Ancient Chinese facial diagnosis gives insight into a person’s constitution, emotional tendencies, disease patterns, and belief systems. 

CT Holman teaches the Lillian Pearl Bridges Facial Diagnosis lineage (Chen family) method. In this course, CT explains how to detect the state of each organ system and a patient’s personality by reading the various colours and features on the face. By understanding the balance of the five elements seen on the face, a thorough diagnosis can be achieved. These diagnostic signs are used to create acupuncture/acupressure prescriptions, herbal formulas, and lifestyle recommendations to bring powerful change. 

CT will read many volunteers’ faces during this interactive and dynamic course to demonstrate how facial diagnosis applies to telemedicine and in-person treatments. In addition, he will provide several acupuncture prescriptions and needle demonstrations.

You will learn how to:

• Understand how the facial features of the face relate to the Five Elements and how to apply this knowledge in crafting Acupuncture point prescriptions. 
• Use the colours seen on the face to create Acupuncture point prescriptions.
• Choose point prescriptions for treating the various emotional, behavioural, and physical imbalances identified on the face.
• Conduct a telemedicine facial diagnosis intake.

By the end of this course, you will have a strong understanding in the foundations of facial diagnosis for immediate use in your clinic along with your other diagnostic techniques.
