This course will teach you to grow six specific foods for your salads: tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, beets, cucumbers, and parsley. You can apply these techniques to growing in a garden or in pots on your patio.
In 2008, Brea became a Director at Pacific Rim College. After the birth of her daughter in 2010, Brea started to focus her attention on pregnancy, birthing and parenting. She created the widely acclaimed Holistic Doula Certificate program. Brea is a Certified Pre-Natal Yoga Instructor and is passionate about the health-related, social, cultural and environmental aspects of birthing and parenting. She is also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and works closely with individuals experiencing trauma and grief. Brea is also passionate about permaculture, biodynamics, and sustainable farming practices. She has travelled to more than 25 different countries and remains fascinated by various cultures. Brea has extensive experience as a Business and Organizational Manager in a variety of fields including organizational development, business development, performance management and human resources. In early 2005, Brea joined Kirschner Consulting Inc. as a Senior Consultant, focusing on Merger and Acquisition Due Diligence and Organizational Assessments. Brea subsequently founded a consulting firm and has provided organizational and human capital assessments pre- and post-Mergers and Acquisitions for multi-million dollar businesses primarily in the environmental and construction sectors of the USA, Canada and the Cayman Islands. When Brea isn’t at Pacific Rim College, you can find her working on her farm, growing food, painting, and playing with her son and daughter.
Your bountiful home vegetable garden awaits! In this course, through video lessons and your instructor Brea’s home garden video journals, you will learn how to grow food from seed to harvest.
This course has been designed for new gardeners, or those with some growing experience, looking to incorporate different methods into their gardening practice.
This course was filmed at Ravenhill Herb Farm, located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada (hardiness zone 8). The farm has a temperate climate and a long growing season. For those living in different environments, these teachings can be slightly modified to suite a variety of growing conditions.
